Immortal Treasure II

Immortal Treasure II is now available, featuring all-new items for Pudge, Bloodseeker, Lina, Treant Protector, Elder Titan, and Chaos Knight. Each Immortal Treasure II you open also offers increasing odds to receive a rare Keeper of the Light mount or an ultra rare Necrophos scythe.

In addition to these items, this treasure has a very rare chance to drop another chest containing a Golden version of one of the Chaos Knight, Pudge, or Lina items. As with other treasures, the Golden chest will not contain duplicate items until each Golden variant has already been acquired, and the first potential Golden drop will always be for Chaos Knight, followed by Pudge and then Lina.

All Battle Pass owners can find an Immortal Treasure II ready to unbox in the Armory, and you can earn more of these treasures by increasing your Battle Level. Head over to the Battle Pass page for a preview of the new items and custom effects contained in today’s treasure.

Exclusive Battle Pass Campaign — Siltbreaker: Act I

A day of reckoning has arrived. A long-dormant evil stirs in Dark Reef prison, and four chosen defenders must band together on a secret mission to stop the fiendish Siltbreaker and his enthralled host of followers. To face this dire threat, all Battle Pass owners are invited to journey across vast landscapes filled with hordes of monsters and other lethal terrors in the first-ever cooperative Dota 2 Multiplayer Campaign.

Each playthrough of this campaign offers the chance to earn in-game Artifacts that can be used each time you play the campaign during the Battle Pass season. Comprised of all-new items to the Dota universe, Artifacts are mythic objects of power that can be equipped in your inventory as you progress through the challenges of the campaign.

As Act I opens, Siltbreaker awakens in the depths of Dark Reef, and the mysterious Conclave of the Brine calls upon you to halt this dark power’s ascent, starting with Siltbreaker’s twisted creation—Rhyzik the Corruptor.

As you battle through multiple play zones in search of Rhyzik, you’ll earn completion stars based on your performance level. The first time you complete a zone with one or two stars will net you Battle Points rewards, and delivering a three-star zone performance will grant a treasure from Siltbreaker himself.

Each Siltbreaker Treasure includes a chance to receive an indescribably-rare Immortal Desert Sands Baby Roshan courier, and Battle Pass owners with Battle Level 165 or higher will receive double the treasures for each three-star zone they complete with the reward bonus active. You’ll also have the opportunity to unlock achievements that grant even more Battle Points.

Can you defeat Rhyzik to earn your just rewards and set up an Act II showdown with Siltbreaker? Party up with three friends or queue-met allies to find out. Stick together and stay alert. You might just stand a fighting chance.

Kunkka Prestige Item and Quest Path

Today marks the release of the exclusive ‘Prize of the Saltworn Mariner’ Kunkka Prestige item and Quest Path, available to all Battle Pass owners with a Battle Level of 225 or higher. Players who complete the Quest Path will also receive an alternate style unlock for the Prestige item.

Featuring new animations and sounds for Kunkka’s ultimate ability, this item can only be obtained by increasing your Battle Pass to level 225 before the conclusion of The International, and—like the Io Arcana available at level 245—will not be available to market or trade in the future. Battle Pass owners who have already sailed past level 225 need but claim their prize from the rewards line to reel the item into Admiral Kunkka’s collection.

Dota 2 Short Film Contest

Submissions for the 2017 Dota 2 Short Film Contest are now open, and this year we’ve extended the allowed length of each short film from 60 seconds to 90 seconds. Filmmakers have until the morning of July 25, 2017 to submit their short film creations to the Dota 2 Steam Workshop to be eligible for consideration.

As always, we invite all fans to visit the Workshop to participate in the voting and discussion process to help us select the best entries to be showcased as part of The International 2017 broadcast. Upon review of the Workshop ratings and discussions, Valve will nominate the top entries to be featured in The International 2017 Battle Pass for a final voting process by the community to determine the winners.

Each finalist that places in the top ten will be guaranteed to win $500, and the top three selections will be awarded prizes of $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000 in recognition of their efforts.

More information and guidelines on the submission process can be found on the Dota 2 Short Film Contest site. Be sure to check in on the Workshop page regularly to help review the submissions you would like to see showcased at The International 2017.

The International 2017 Collector’s Cache

Available exclusively to Battle Pass owners for $1.99, The International 2017 Collector’s Cache has arrived, brimming with 20 aquatic-themed item sets—and three rare sets—designed to hook a full spread of heroes into the spirit of this year’s event.

Unboxing ten of these treasures automatically grants a token redeemable for any of the non-rare sets contained within, and opening 20 will instantly net you 20 Battle Levels. As usual, the chances for a rare drop increase with each treasure you open, and each purchase contributes directly to The International prize pool.

This treasure is only available for sale until The International concludes. As with last year’s International Collector’s Cache, the items in this treasure are exclusive and cannot be purchased elsewhere. Each set can, however, be gifted once or recycled for 2,000 Battle Points, and the Ultra Rare is marketable.

Client Performance Update

No matter which aspect of Dota captures your interest, all players benefit from improvements in the performance of the game client. With that in mind, today’s update delivers multiple changes focused on providing smooth and consistent gameplay regardless of the hardware setup you’re running.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve released many small incremental updates aimed at improving client performance. In today’s update, we’re releasing many more fixes that will also improve overall performance and FPS stability. Specifically, low-end machines will see a higher peak frame rate, while high-end machines will experience improved frame-rate consistency, resulting in fewer performance dips.
